Robert D. Jansen, MD, is a long time Georgia resident who received his medical degree from Emory University Hospital. He did his internship at the Washington University in St. Louis' Barnes Hospital. Furthermore, he was a Medical Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, but he returned to St. Louis to complete his Nephrology Fellowship at Washington University. He also received his Masters in Business Administration from Kennesaw University in 1997.

Dr. Jansen joined Georgia Kidney Associates in 1985 and left briefly from 1994-1998 to accept a position as Vice President of Medical Operations with Promina Health Systems. In 1998, he left Promina to resume his medical practice.

He resides in Marietta, GA with his wife and daughter. He enjoys photography, scuba diving, reading, and spending time with his daughter.
