Dr. Amish N. Patel MD joined the practice in 2009. He is a true Georgia native. He was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA, and his family still lives in the house he grew up in. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor before returning back to Georgia where he went to Georgia State for a Masters in Biology. He completed medical school at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta before heading back north to Chicago where he completed his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Loyola University. He stayed on as a faculty member in the Department of Nephrology where he worked in renal transplant, dialysis and taught, renal fellows and students. He finally moved back home to Atlanta to be with his family.
In his free time he loves to play tennis, watch movies, and surf. He is an avid traveller, having visted every continent except Antarctica and Australia (although he would point out that he has been to New Zealand which should count). His favorite food is mexican, and he loves Jeeps.
Dr. Patel mainly sees patients at our Cartersville, Woodstock, and Marietta locations.
